Wanna Be Photog for Hire

I have officially become a photography enthusiast.  We can all blame Dedrick for that.  His obsession with DSLR cameras rubbed off on me.  It all started with doing the photos and videos for Nolon's games (check out his highlights at jediball.blogspot.com), but now has significantly expanded.  I love the editing and setting up creative shoots.  Learning how to use the different camera settings to create specific looks has been challenging, but we all know I love a good challenge.  I am actually considering offering my services to friends, for a small fee, of course.  Advertisement:  Now taking low maintenance, easy going clients for mini shoots to build my portfolio.  Email me for more info!  LOL!

Aunt Peggy...the next Wilhelmina 30+ Model!!!

My Aunt, Peggy Gregory, age 52, has been selected as one of 30 semi-finalists nationwide in the WILHELMINA 30+ MODEL SEARCH.  We are so very excited for her as she has always supported me and my little ones in EVERY milestone in our lives so I really need your help supporting her!

A Nolon Thing or Just a 4 year old Thing??

So the last month with Mr. Nolon has been interesting to say the least. In the past 4 weeks he has dropped the "F-bomb", kicked his teacher, tried to thrust his (covered) pepe on people and then today managed to manipulate a 32-year old man into taking him to the wrong school. I am now faced with asking myself if this is normal mischievous behavior for a 4 year old or is my child an exception? Mind you, Dedrick and I are not laid back parents AT ALL and he has suffered significant consequences for each of his actions, yet he keeps pushing the envelope further each time. From friends I've learned that it only gets worse as boys get older. SERIOUSLY! Nolon is a great little kid on most days, smart, funny, very active, but lately I don't know what has gotten into him. This latest incident...the school thing...I honestly have to say I found hilarious. Jade had surgery this AM (I'll be posting another blog for that later) so his awesome Godparents were nice enough to pick him up last night and let him stay over so that his Godfather could take him to school for us. They left the house and then my brilliant 4 year old convinced his GF that he still attends Sunny Days, which in fact he hasn't attended since last August! When they got inside his GF realized that Nolon's name was not on the sign in sheet so he asked, is this not where Nolon comes to school? Then he turned around to find, Mr. Nolon standing behind him snickering. REALLY! I don't know what I'm going to do with this boy! I've talked to friends with 4 year olds and they each have their own 4 year old woes, so I am starting to think that this is more common than I originally thought, so now I just have to wonder, how long does THIS phase last? Hawaii!!!

On April 13, 2012, Dedrick and I celebrated 10 years of marriage.  Wow, what a milestone!  It hasn’t been perfect and there are definitely things I wish I could go back and change, but being married to Mr. Buckels is definitely not one of them!  To revitalize and celebrate our 10 years, we finally went on a REAL vacation. I say real not because we haven’t been anywhere, but this time was the longest vacation we have ever taken (7 whole days) and the first time we haven’t gone anywhere without the kiddos.  At first I thought I would be really depressed about that but not so much.  I honestly enjoyed being away from it all, kids, work, responsibilities and just spending time just being his wife.  It’s funny how life takes over and we forget how important it is to stop for a moment and enjoy each other.  We also chose to use this opportunity to renew our vows.  I’d like to take this moment and give a shout out to my hubby for doing such an awesome job writing his vows.  Hawaii was awesome (all except for the last day when I came down with flu and spent most of the day relieving my body of everything that went in it the previous day and a half). Leave it to me to go on a tropical vacation and come back with the flu, but that’s different post for another time.  Meanwhile, enjoy the scene from our vow renewal and Hawaiian adventure!

I am now a blogger!

Welcome to the new JazzmyneandDedrick.com! I have decided that with all the changes in our lives, maintaining a website has become WAY too difficult. Having a blog interface makes my life so much easier. It's the best of both worlds, because I can keep everyone in loop on the latest happenings, without having to take 2 days to do it. This is awesome! You'll all have to bear with me as I build the blogs for each of the pages I hosted on our website, but I will eventually have all of Nolon's archives up and even a brand new debut page for Miss Jade! I feel like such a bad Mom because Nolon had a webpage before he was even born and here Jade is turning 1 this Thursday (can you believe it) and she still hasn't made her official web debut!
